Lectures are on Mondays and Wednesdays at 15:00-16:45, in Lab 4, F01.
We may occasionally cancel lectures for Yasha's business travel. So far, this is planned to happen on Sep 28,30.
Homework is appended below. It is mandatory, but not graded. To avoid grief, submit your homework within 1 week from its publication. Collaboration is encouraged. You can submit by email, or directly to Yasha's office (Lab 4, E11; it's OK to slip it under the door).
The grade will consist of 75% final exam and 25% midterm exam (or 100% final exam if it was better than the midterm). The format of the exams is the same as the homework. If you don't submit everything (homework + exams) a week before the end of the term, I cannot grade you.
We do not take attendance. Using AI to solve your homework in a fundamental physics course is dumb, so don't. Ask humans instead. Yasha is happy to be bothered with questions. If you can't find me at the office, set a meeting by email. Feel free to also bother Tom, Julian and Jin in Lab 4, E25e and E25f (both within E25a).
Remember that grades in your Ph.D. are largely meaningless, and that the main purpose of the course is to have fun. Feel free to steer the course towards what you would like to learn.
