Campus Life
OIST LGBTQ+ Allies group is an enduring, self-organized community that aims to provide support and safe space for queer individuals at OIST.
Intersectional Feminists of OIST (IF OIST) aims to create a safe space to talk about topics related to harassment, inequality and discrimination, especially around gender, in a vulnerable way and to accompany, lift each other up, and honor each other's experiences. Furthermore, the IF OIST club also aims to create initiatives to promote gender equality and to harness a richer and more respectful campus culture.
The Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Team is queer-friendly and offers coaching, consulting, and support for individuals and groups at OIST. Please contact us at DEI@oist.jp.
Ganjuu Wellbeing Service offers free wellbeing support and psychological therapy to members of the OIST community.
OIST Health Center
Tedako Child Development Center (CDC) welcomes all OIST families and offers full-day bilingual childcare programs available to the children of OIST employees and students.
OIST Resource Center provides daily life support to all staff and students and their family members – everyone in OIST community. Relocating to a new place that you are not accustomed to may be challenging, but we are here to provide you the help you need.
Recreation Services provides OIST members with an inclusive and equitable opportunity to participate, educate, compete, and volunteer in recreational and cultural activities as a means to enhance health and well-being. Recreation Services will provide ALL OIST members opportunities for physical, social, and cultural involvement.
The Center for Professional Development and Inclusive Excellence (C-Hub) provides opportunities for personal and career growth. C-Hub enacts its mission by engaging the diverse experiences, perspectives, and contributions amongst the broader OIST community to foster productive dialogue and exploration, and ultimately support OIST’s mission toward scientific and educational excellence.
