OIST participates in the following researcher support platforms through Core Facilities external collaboration:
Advanced Bioimaging Support Platform (ABiS) (FY2016–2021, FY2022–2027)
This platform is part of the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT)'s Grant-in-Aid for Scientific Research program, under the "Transformative Research Areas (Research Infrastructure Development)" initiative. It supports researchers receiving KAKENHI grants, and OIST is responsible for providing support and training in optical microscopy.
Platform Project for Supporting Drug Discovery and Life Science Research (BINDS) (FY2017–2021, FY2022–2026)
This platform is part of the Japan Agency for Medical Research and Development (AMED)'s initiative to support life science and drug discovery research. It assists fundamental research that contributes to drug development, and OIST provides training and support for protein structure analysis using cryo-electron microscopy.
