SEED Program

OIST STEM Experience, Exploration, and Discovery (SEED) Program is designed for Super Science High schools (SSH) and high schools with science-oriented curricula nationwide. After assessing the needs of participating schools, we aim to provide experiences that will stimulate students' interest in science and technology and develop new research skills that can contribute to future studies.

At the same time, the program can also contribute to increasing the motivation of students who aspire to work internationally in the future by conducting science activities in English. Through various interactions with international students, researchers, and staff at OIST, the program offers opportunities for participants not only to learn about science but also about their future careers.

Program Contents

The program is designed to provide a deeper understanding of science through an introduction to our research, campus and lab tours, lectures and presentations by researchers, and activities that bring the research experience closer to students.  We will adjust the program content as needed based on the student’s grade and the number of participants.  Programs can also be organized over multiple days, and we are currently conducting an on-site program only. Thank you for your understanding.

If you have a specific topic or area of interest, please indicate it in the comment section of the application form.
We will propose a program that meets your request.

※Please note that even after the program content has been confirmed, the content or the person in charge of the program may be changed due to the circumstances of the professor or researcher. In such cases, we will provide an alternative program.
※The SEED program will be conducted on-site only.
