Usage Fees

  • OIST students and their family members/domestic partners in the same household:​→ Free​

  • OIST interns:​→ Free​

  • Faculty/Staff:​→400JPY per day (maximum charge is 4,000JPY/month) ​to be deducted from their salary​

  • Temp staff:​→400JPY per day (maximum charge is 4,000JPY/month)​

  • OIST Faculty/Staff’s family members/Domestic partners in the same household:​→400JPY per day (maximum charge is 4,000JPY/month) *​to be deducted from their sponsoring family member’s salary​

  • OIST guests:​→4,000JPY per month (to be paid in cash to the Recreation Services office)**​

*When multiple members of the same household(excluding the OIST faculty and staff) use the OIST gym, the maximum charge is 6,000JPY/month.​

**If the gym usage is less than a month, the usage fee will be free for OIST guests​.

**An invoice will be sent to the user, and the user must pay the indicated fee to the Recreation Services office​.

How to register

  1. Read the rules

  2. Sign the Liability Waiver (save a digital copy on your PC)

  3. Take online orientation
    - Take a comprehensive test and save a digital copy of the completion certificate on your PC
    - Contact Recreation Services at recreation-services@oist.jp if you cannot access the orientation material

  4. Submit registration form

  5. Gym access will be remotely granted to your OIST ID card in a week Recreation Services will email you once access is granted

* Family members who want to register need to obtain a family member access card from OIST Resource Center.
