Conference poster prizes for two Quantum Machines students!

Congratulations to both Alex Hodges and Daehee Kim for winning best poster awards at two major international conferences. 

Alex attended the international meeting entitled "Quantum Optics XI" =(11) :) in Poland and presented his poster on his recent proposal for a magnetically levitated optomechanical setup with feedback cooling to the ground motional state. This is a very long running conference which was started in Poland many years ago and attracts researchers from all over the world. He won a book voucher - what book did you get Alex?

Daehee attended the large international conference called "PIERS" in Tokyo. PIERS is a very broad conference on all things electromagnetic. He presented his recent published paper on a levitated ultra-low damped rotor. The PIERS conference attracts a very large attendance and its good to see such awards coming the QMU way!
