OSP2025
Okinawa School in Physics: From Quantum Key Distribution to the Quantum Internet (OSP2025) summer school on September 21 – October 3, 2025

The main focus of this school was quantum communication, covering topics from quantum key distribution (QKD)—the most advanced current quantum technology—to the quantum internet, the envisioned future quantum platform. Forty students participated and learned from our invited speakers about various aspects of this field, including security technology, cryptography, post-quantum cryptography, entanglement engineering, quantum optics, quantum memory, quantum solid-state physics, ion traps, quantum protocols, quantum evaluation theory, and quantum networks.

Research & Career Seminar with AIST
Research & Career Seminar with AIST on August 26, 2025

OIST and AIST have launched a joint Career Development Project to help students and researchers explore research and career opportunities in Japan. The project includes seminars, lab tours, and internships, particularly for those interested in research roles at domestic institutions like AIST. The first event featured quantum researchers from AIST’s G-QuAT presenting their work and participating in a career Q&A session.
