Protochips Inc. is visiting OIST to discuss in-situ electron microscopy holders. They will give a seminar at 11 am on Thursday the 21st, if you would like a meeting with Protochips, please contact img-request@oist.jp and we can help set up a meeting with them. OIST currently has the Protochips Aduro heating and biasing holder and Protochips Poseidon Liquid and Electrochemistry holder.

This training course will show you how to make best use of the high-performance computing resources at OIST. In the first session we show you how computing clusters are organized and introduce the fundamental concepts of parallel computing.

In collaboration with leading venture capital firms, OIST Innovation offers startups and entrepreneurial researchers or students the opportunity to connect directly with venture capitalists for one-on-one mentoring and discussion. Each round begins with an open seminar-style introduction, where participants can learn about the VC firm's investment focus and characteristics. This is followed by private, closed-door mentoring sessions between startups/researchers/students and the VC representatives. The featured VC for this round is Intrinsic Venture Capital.

Gaston Sivori (OIST PhD 2025) is currently based in Dresden, Germany, working at SpiNNcloud, a company developing brain-inspired, energy-efficient AI supercomputing systems. In this session, he will share his career journey from OIST to industry, including how he secured his role and his experiences during the first months on the job. There will be time for discussion and questions. 1 PCD unit
