Jinsun Lee

Dr. Jinsun Lee is an Assistant Professor leading the Energy Materials and Sustainability Unit at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology (OIST). She was born and raised in Suwon, South Korea. She received her Ph.D. in Inorganic Chemistry from Sungkyunkwan University (SKKU) in 2022 under the supervision of Prof. Hyoyoung Lee. She then joined the group of Priv.-Doz. Dr. Harun Tüysüz as a postdoctoral researcher in the Department of Heterogeneous Catalysis (Director: Prof. Ferdi Schüth) at the Max Planck Institute for Coal Research (MPI-KOFO), Germany. In 2023, she was awarded the prestigious Marie Skłodowska-Curie Actions Postdoctoral Fellowship to support her independent research in sustainable energy conversion. In 2025, she joined OIST as an Assistant Professor to establish and lead the Energy Materials and Sustainability Unit.
