Two OIST Startups Selected for J-Startup OKINAWA 2025
At the Okinawa Startup Ecosystem Annual Meeting held on November 14, 2025, at Suntory Arena, two OIST startups—HerLifeLab Inc. and Strout Inc.—were selected among the five companies chosen for the second cohort of "J-Startup OKINAWA."
HerLifeLab Inc., founded by former OIST researcher Olga Elisseeva after completing the OIST Innovation Accelerator Program, provides "Vivalle," an online medical consultation service for women experiencing menopause.
Strout Inc. is one of the companies accepted into this year's OIST Innovation Accelerator Program. Through "Sakana Edge," an integrated land-based aquaculture development solution that combines over 60 years of operational expertise from aquaculture sites with AI and IoT technologies, the company enables fish health management and environmental change prediction while supporting producers in making real-time data-driven decisions.
Additionally, Think Nature Inc., a startup originated from the University of the Ryukyus and a tenant company at the OIST Innovation Incubator, was also selected.
Startups chosen for J-Startup Okinawa, recognized for their innovative technologies and business models with potential for exponential growth, will receive integrated public-private support programs. Following last year's selection of EF Polymer, we are honored to have two companies from OIST selected for such programs.
We will continue to strengthen OIST's startup support to contribute to the development of Okinawa's startup ecosystem.
