Lab meeting

The MiLD group values flexibility. We adjust our meeting schedule and format based on members’ preferences through group discussions. Here, we introduce our current meeting style.

Progress Meeting

- More than twice per month

- with Fumiaki

- Fumiaki shares a calendar with one-hour open slots for progress meetings. Members can choose two or more slots each month, depending on their experimental schedules and holidays. He believes this flexible style helps foster independence.

Research Seminar

- Twice per year per person

- within the group

- Slide presentation style

- Presentation ~60 min, +QA

- All group members present their ongoing projects and future perspectives, including what they ultimately hope to achieve in science.

Journal Club

- Twice per year per person

- within the group

- Choke talk style (but we may use a whiteboard and marker pens. You don't need to prepare any presentation slides.)

- Presentation ~30 min, +QA

- Introduce at least one paper that interests you and could contribute to the group’s projects.

Casual Chat

- Anytime you want

- Having lunch together (Fumiaki is happy to join you, but there’s no pressure to attend. It’s completely up to you and your experimental schedule).
