How to support our team?

We are preparing to participate in the iGEM Grand Jamboree 2025 in Paris this October. However, participation comes with significant financial challenges: 

• Team registration fee: $5,500 USD

• Participation fee: $625 USD per person

• Additional costs include travel, accommodation, lab materials, and outreach activities, which exceed what we can cover with personal and institutional support alone.

We are seeking individuals, organizations, and companies to support our project in solving real-world issues in Okinawa.

Special Event at OIST: Introducing our Smart Pest Detection project to sponsors and stakeholders

We are planning to host a special event at OIST around November–December to showcase our project to sponsors, farmers, and local stakeholders. This will be an opportunity to introduce the progress of our DNA-detecting smart trap system and share our results from the iGEM Jamboree held in October. We will present how our work addresses real challenges faced by farmers and how it could contribute to more efficient and sustainable pest control. The event will also serve as a platform to connect with farmers, companies, and researchers who share the same vision of solving agricultural issues through innovation. We welcome companies who are interested in supporting youth-led innovation and working together to create practical solutions for agriculture in Japan.

In-kind donations

We gladly accept in-kind contributions such as equipment, reagents, devices, printing support, or technical services to help bring our synthetic biology project to life. We’re also happy to discuss flexible arrangements and custom partnerships.

 

2. For general public

As a public supporter, your donation helps fund lab work, outreach, and travel to the iGEM Grand Jamboree in Paris. Every bit counts — whether it’s covering materials, printing costs, or helping us share Okinawa’s science with the world. We will also provide a small token of appreciation to all those who donate.
