Accommodation Agreement and Rule

 

Entering the room means you accept the terms.

What is provided in the room?

  • All rooms are shared.
  • Basic kitchen utensils such as cutlery, plates, pots, pans, knives, etc.
  • Free Wi-Fi Internet
  • No amenity is provided. Toilet paper, towels, shampoo, soap, and garbage bags will be on your own.
  • A pillow and comforter are provided, but a pillow cover and sheets are NOT provided.

Bedding To Be Prepared by Resident

Please make sure to bring your own Mattress sheets, Comforter cover, and Pillowcase.
Please refrain from using the bed without sheets and pillowcases.

  • Comforter/duvet (170 x 210 cm)
  • Pillow (40 x 60 cm)

If you want to purchase bedding, please go to OIST AEON directly. (No need for an advanced request.)

Other Things To Prepare Before Arrival

  1. Download a Translation app on your smartphone. (e. g. VoiceTra)
  2. Have some cash in Japanese yen.
  3. Know where public internet is available at OIST.
    The Public Internet is available in The Gardens Office.

  2. If you have find a difference in the number of keys / problems in the room, please report student-housing@oist.jp within 3 days after your move-in date.

Move-Out

  1. [About 10 days before]
    OIST will send an inspection schedule. You need to participate in the sessions.
     
  2. Inspection [Before Move-out Day]
    Before the inspection, please clean your room along with the following 2 documents.
     

    OIST staff will check the conditions with you.

    You do not have to pack all of your belongings, but please prepare to leave at this stage.
    Even if you don’t participate in this inspection, we will inspect without you, but please be there to avoid any troubles.

    *If professional cleaning is necessary, the cost will be charged to you (Approximately 60,000 JPY).

  3. [Move-out day]
  • Do not leave anything behind including the storage room/closet.
    No food, cardboard, or personal belongings shouldn't be left.
     
  • Leave the air conditioner ON in all rooms (Dehumidifying mode).
    You do not have to turn it off.
     
  • Lock the front door and return all keys to the red post box in the Gardens Office below.
    If you have the bedroom key and desk cabinet key, please make sure to return them as well.
    ※ There will be a charge if you lose the key.

    Additionally, if you have a parking permit, please return it to the Gardens Office (not in the post).

4. After you have moved out, we will visit and check the room's condition.
