The robot created for the study

The virtual robot created for the study was simulated in a 3D environment with realistic physics. The robot can see color and depth through the front camera, sense the movement of its own limbs, and feel touch. For movement, it can turn its wheels independently and move its arm. During each simulation, the robot is instructed by a command voice to complete a task, while a feedback voice narrates its actions.

STEPS - Visualization toolkit

In the upper left box you can see all parts of the neuron in this model, the external structure and internal compartment (ER) that holds calcium (yellow), and the proteins involved in opening the calcium channel (blue, bright magenta and dark magenta). In the other boxes, you can see the calcium or each protein separately to watch their movements and activation. In the bottom center, you can see the numerical data in real time as the model runs.

Higher Order Mode Video
