Quantum Wave Microscopy Unit

The Quantum Wave Microscopy Unit’s newly assembled, low-energy electron microscope uses lensless technology to construct crisp holograms of protein and viruses. It is hoped that this new technology will yield high-contrast single-molecule images at sub-nanometer resolution. A very different project, called “The Wave Energy Converter (WEC) Project,” aims to generate electricity by placing turbines at key locations near the shoreline, such as near tetrapods or among coral reefs. Since 2018, the unit is testing the WEC prototypes in the Maldives.
