Outreach Class at Yara Elementary School in Kadena Town

Outreach Class conducted at Yara Elementary School on June 22, 2026. Fifty-five students attended the class, gaining insights into the work of technicians and research.

Yumiko Masukagami from the Evolution, Cell Biology, and Symbiosis Unit gave a lecture introducing the role of technicians and sharing her journey to OIST. She also shared the Okinawan saying, "Makutushicho-ke, Nankuru Naisa", encouraging the students to live honestly and trust that things will work out with perseverance.

Her talk inspired the students to learn more about science and the diverse career paths that support research.
