Okinawa prefectural residents college 2026

On October 17, 2026, OIST participated in Okinawa Prefectural Residents College 2026.

At the event, Naohisa Wada from OIST’s Marine Structural Biology Unit gave a lecture titled “Learn with OIST! What Is Coral Symbiosis?” He spoke about his background and his current research at OIST, including the symbiotic systems of corals.

Participants also created coral holobiont models and had the opportunity to ask questions, deepening their understanding of corals and the organisms that live together with them.

The event was held as the 8th Chura-shima Okinawa Studies Lecture of the Okinawa Prefectural Residents College 2026.
