The Interfacial Transport Group studies how fluid flows and the contaminants they carry, such as PFAS and soap molecules, interact with the liquid interface. Using applied mathematics, combined with numerical simulations and experiments, we build a quantitative understanding of the interfacial physics. This understanding enables precise predictions of the interfacial fluid dynamics and how they can be manipulated to better control the contaminants in the fluid.
