The 6th meeting of the Board of Governors took place on July 28-30, during which recommendations for the overall blueprint for establishing the new OIST graduate university were finalized. This was the culmination of over a year of planning by the OIST University Preparation Working Group and the BOG Working Group. The recommendations were summarized in a document, the Blueprint of the New Graduate University, which at the conclusion of the meeting was submitted formally to then Minister for Okinawa Affairs Fumio Kishida by BOG co-chairs, Dr. Torsten Wiesel and Dr. Akito Arima. The Blueprint of the New Graduate University will be used by CAO as a reference in drafting the legislation that will create the OIST Graduate University.
