Amin Chabchoub

Associate Professor and PI of the Marine Physics and Engineering Unit. Amin CHABCHOUB received his PhD from Hamburg University of Technology and holds a visiting professorship at Imperial College London as well as an honorary professorial appointment at The University of Melbourne. He was previously Assistant Professor of Hydrodynamics at Aalto University, Associate Professor in Environmental Fluid Mechanics at The University of Sydney, and Associate Professor (Hakubi Fellow) at Kyoto University. Prior to these faculty roles, he held postdoctoral positions at Imperial College London, Swinburne University of Technology, and The University of Tokyo. His research focuses on extreme events, nonlinear dynamics, time-series analysis, ocean engineering, and physical oceanography.
