Robots play with objects during training

Halfway through training, the curious robots appeared to engage in play-like behavior, repeatedly experimenting with actions that are entirely different from what they’re commanded to do and are rewarded for. This could be explained by their internal motivation, which rewards novel behaviors — and this behavior helps them learn to generalize task types.
