パヤル・シャー博士は、経済理論に統計的手法や生態学、または生物地理学のツールを組み合わせて、生物多様性や生態系の保全政策の効果を評価し、気候変動対策のに最適な戦略を策定しています。気候変動は、種の多様性や生態系サービスを脅かし、将来の保全成果の空間パターンに不確実な変化をもたらします。そして、この不確実性のために、保全や土地管理の標準的なパラダイムを適用することが難しくなっています。シャー博士の研究は、気候の不確実性がもたらす空間的・時間的なリスクを効果的に管理するための新たな手法を開発し、さまざまな生態系環境における保全および適応計画の決定を導くものです。
