About the Workshop

The cell division cycle is a fundamental process responsible for the inheritance of genomic information and is associated with all biological processes, including embryonic development, tissue maintenance, and aging. Dysregulation of this cycle can lead to genomic instability, cancer, and developmental disorders, highlighting its significance. While related research areas have become increasingly sophisticated and specialized, this presents a unique opportunity to foster deeper interdisciplinary collaboration, which can broaden perspectives and inspire the creation of innovative research directions at the intersections of diverse fields.

To provide a platform for discussion, we have invited 18 world-leading experts, including 2 keynote speakers, representing diverse disciplines related to cell division, cancer, and aging. These experts leverage state-of-the-art technologies, such as large-scale phenotype screening, Cryo-EM, expansion microscope, anti-aging therapy, AI-based software, and more. This workshop will offer an excellent platform for PhD students and early-career researchers to share their research and receive valuable feedback from leading experts in the field. We hope that this workshop will not only expand the interdisciplinary network but also increase the visibility of OIST as an international hub for research on the cell division cycle.
