Title: Non-supersymmetric strings on AdS3

Abstract:

In the pursuit of realistic vacuua from string theory compactifications, the community has mostly focused on models with spacetime supersymmetry. This is for good reason: supersymmetry simplifies many calculations and resolves certain issues that arise in its absence. However, non-supersymmetric string theories without tachyons are also known, and there has recently been growing interest in studying their behavior. When investigating such theories, two natural questions arise: (i) Can one obtain de Sitter vacuua from these theories? (ii) Are the vacuua that we obtain from these theories stable in the classical and semiclassical sense? In this talk, we address these questions for a non-supersymmetric model on the AdS3 x S3 x T4) background. We also highlight some open questions that remain to be explored in future work.
