OIST Open Biosafety Seminar 2026
Description
Dear researchers, and students,
We are pleased to announce that the OIST Open Biosafety Seminar 2026 will be held on Wednesday, August 26.
This year, the seminar focuses on the rapidly advancing field of synthetic biology. We have invited two pioneering experts to OIST: Prof. Daisuke Kiga from Waseda University and Prof. Norikazu Ichihashi from The University of Tokyo.
Our guest speakers will present their latest research on the Darwinian evolution of RNA-protein self-replication systems, synthetic gene circuits, and mirror-image biology.
Furthermore, the session will explore the transformative role of AI technology in biological research and facilitate a critical discussion on the ethical considerations and risks associated with these cutting-edge technologies.
