Welcome to the Photographic Society!
What is the Photographic Society?
Is an OIST club that organizes people from the OIST community that like photography or are photographers.
We are an autopoietic, self-organizing and collaborative group of photography enthusiasts looking to get together to discuss and do photography, explore new techniques, and find outlets to showcase our work.
We're interested in digital, film and experimental photography, and in many photographic genres including landscape, macro, nature, street/documentary, portrait and whatever you can bring to the group.
If you're not a photographer, but you like photography, this might also be a group for you since we ocasionally review and share photos.
Activities
We get toghether on the first thursday of every month (except holydays) for our monthly luncheon social where we hang out together to talk about photography, events, workshops and life in general. It is usually held in C015 during lunch (12 pm) but it can change venue, so keep an eye on our Discord server for specific details.
Although we're not a photography school, ocasionaly we host workshops to learn or practice techniques and methods. Our montly challenge will give you ideas to create and we will review and discuss those images both online and in our monthly meeting.
All members are welcome to sugest and organize activities and discussions, so don't hold back and pitch your ideas in a meeting or in our Discord.
Where can you find us?
We have a Discord server that you can join at any time, just keep in mind that we will remove inactive users at random times for security reasons, but you can re-join as many times as needed.
If you don't like Discord or if you are mostly interested in our public events, keep an eye on TIDA where we will advertise all public activities.
