SEED Program: Ochanomizu University Senior High School visited OIST
Ochanomizu University Senior High School Students presented their research projects in English and received feedback from OIST PhD students.
This was followed by a lecture by Hitomi Shinzato titled “From Tradition to the Future: Exploring Okinawan Traditional Crafts through Science and Technology.” Through the lecture, students deepened their understanding of bashofu, a traditional Okinawan textile, and learned about the new possibilities created by combining tradition with science.
During the campus tour, students visited OIST’s research facilities and experienced its international and interdisciplinary research environment.
