The 14th SCORE! Internship Program
From March 24 to 26, OIST hosted the 14th SCORE! Internship Program, welcoming 6 students. During the three-day program, the participants had the opportunity to experience OIST’s research environment first-hand.
The students explored OIST’s research environment through a campus tour and visits to several research units including the Micro/Bio/Nanofludics Unit, Molecular Genetics Unit, Protein Engineering and Evolution Unit, Optical Neuroimaging Unit, and the Cybernetic Humanity Studio. Through these visits, they gained first-hand insight into OIST’s cutting-edge research across a range of scientific fields.
The students also joined lunch sessions with OIST members each day. This gave them a valuable opportunity to hear directly about student life, research, and future academic and career paths. In addition, at the OIST Incubator, they learned not only about the facility itself but also about the work of EF Polymer, an OIST startup, gaining a deeper understanding of how research can be translated into real-world applications.
On the final day, the participants gave final presentations to share what they had learned and discovered over the course of the three-day program. Those who supported the program also joined the session, making it a meaningful conclusion to the program. For the participating students, the experience at OIST provided a valuable opportunity to reflect on their learning and consider how it may shape their future studies and career paths.
We would like to express our sincere gratitude to all the research units, students, and staff members who supported the 14th SCORE! Internship Program.
