SEED Program:Tottori Prefectural Yonago Higashi High School visited OIST
Students from Yonago Higashi High School in Tottori Prefecture gave research presentations and received feedback from OIST PhD students.
They also joined a campus tour to explore OIST’s research facilities.

In the half of the program, Dr. Riou Mizuno (Postdoctoral Scholar / Biodiversity and Biocomplexity Unit) delivered a lecture titled “Diversity of ant life history and behavior” Students learned about ant ecology and diversity and deepened their understanding through hands-on observation of live ants.
In addition, discussion sessions were held with OIST PhD students and researchers, who introduced their research topics and shared their motivations for pursuing PhD studies. The sessions provided students with opportunities to engage in active discussions and learn from researchers’ experiences.
