SEED Program: Mie Prefectural Yokkaichi Senior High School vistited OIST

Mie Prefectural Yokkaichi Senior High School visited the OIST as part of their SSH school trip.

Dr. Eiichi Shoguchi,(Senior Staff Scientist, Marine Genomics Unit) gave a lecture on “Symbiosis between Corals and Zooxanthellae” and guided the students through a tour of the Marine Genomics Unit laboratory.

The students also presented their own research projects in English and received feedback from OIST PhD students.
Maya Agata(Complexity Science and Evolution Unit) and Zohreh Sharabifarahani (Light–Matter Interaction for Quantum Technologies Unit) gave Career Talks about their research and shared their personal experiences and motivations for pursuing PhD studies.
