Postdoctoral Scholars, Chiral Representation Theory (CRT)

The position

Chiral Representation Theory (CRT) Unit at the Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University (OIST) is seeking to recruit several Postdoctoral Scholars. Candidates with 5 or more years of postdoctoral research experience may also be considered for appointment as a Staff Scientist.

Chiral representation theory unit investigates the symmetries arising in quantum field theories. More specifically, it focuses on the representation theory of infinite-dimensional Lie algebras such as Kac–Moody algebras, and more generally, on vertex algebras. This is a relatively young field with many fascinating open problems. Recent work has revealed that chiral representation theory is deeply connected to various areas, including geometry, integrable systems, number theory, topological quantum computing, and higher-dimensional quantum field theories.

About OIST

The Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University was established in 2011 to contribute to the development of science and technology worldwide and to serve as a hub of innovation in Okinawa.
