Junior high school students from Nomi City, Ishikawa Prefecture, visited OIST
OIST Postdoctoral Scholar Nicholas Connolly gave a lecture titled “Introducing Mathematical Research!” to 20 junior high school students visiting OIST from Nomi City. The students applied topological theorems to the alphabet and explored mathematical graphs from perspectives different from what they usually study at school. They actively engaged in the activities and seemed to really enjoy the session. The students also participated in an English exchange session with OIST staff and joined a campus tour, where they gained insight into what it is like to study and work at OIST.
