How to dispose of garbage generated during your event

For events held at the Conference Center and inside Main Campus

  • Waste can be disposed of in the designated garbage storage areas.

  • When using the Conference Center, please dispose of waste in the garbage storage located next to the entrance of the Conference Center pantry.

  • The garbage storage next to the Conference Center is locked. Please ask the key at the front reception desk, and be sure to return it on the same day after use.
  • A large garbage storage area is located next to the Central Control Center ("Bousai Center").
    If the amount of waste exceeds the capacity of the garbage storage next to the Conference Center, please dispose of it at the garbage storage next to the Lab 1 Central Control Center ("Bousai Center").
  • Garbage can be disposed of at the Garbage Disposal Room.
  • The Garbage Disposal Room is located next to the Central Control Center ("Bousai Center"). See map below.
  • The Garbage Disposal Room is locked. To enter, contact the Bousai Center.
  • Call the Bousai Center at least 10 minutes in advance at Tel: 098-966-8861 (from an international number: +81-98-966-8861)
  • Please follow these rules when disposing of garbage:
    • You have to use Onna-village Designated Garbage Bags (恩納村指定ゴミ袋)
      • Onna-village garbage bags can be purchased either at Aeon store on campus or at any convenient stores within Onna-village.
      • For OIST-members: For workshops and meetings organized by an OIST unit or section, designated garbage bags can be purchased at the Supply Store.
      • Note: This does not apply to community or club usage of OIST venues. Please purchase bags from Aeon or a convenient store.
    • You have to seperate the garbage into burnable, non-burnable, pet bottles, cans, glass bottles, etc.
    • You cannot dispose of oversized garbage at OIST. Please contact the municipality and designated facilities directly to schedule disposal.

Garbage Disposal Main Campus

For events held at the Seaside House

  • Burnable garbage can be disposed of at the Burnable Garbage Bin.
  • The Burnable Garbage Binis located outside the Seaside House. See map below.
  • Recyclables such as PET bottles, cans, glass, etc. have to be seperated and placed at the designated area at the back entrance of the Seaside House.
  • Please follow these rules when disposing of garbage:
