I earned my Ph.D. from Kyushu Institute of Technology, where I studied taste reception in mouse taste bud cells using electrophysiological approaches. After completing my Ph.D., I joined the Cellular and Molecular Synaptic Function Unit at OIST and began studying synaptic transmission, developing a strong interest in its molecular mechanisms.
At the Institute of Science and Technology Austria (ISTA), I expanded my research expertise from electrophysiology to electron microscopy, with the aim of understanding synaptic transmission from molecular, structural, and functional perspectives. I later returned to OIST and joined the Neuronal Rhythms in Movement Unit, where I investigated intercellular gap junctions using electron microscopy.
At the Synapse Biology Unit, I hope to combine electrophysiology and electron microscopy to further our understanding of synaptic function.
Outside the lab, I enjoy fishing, gardening, and iaido.
