Tomato anemonefishes (Amphiprion frenatus) have two white bars as juveniles but lose one as they come into adulthood. The timing of this change is flexible, influenced by a range of environmental and social factors. In their new study, OIST researchers investigated these drivers alongside the underlying cellular mechanisms behind the change.
