Postdoctoral fellowships in Hybrid Quantum Device Team
The Hybrid Quantum Device Team at OIST is seeking a talented and motivated postdoctoral researcher to contribute to the development of:
- A spin-based microwave-optical photon quantum transducer, and/or
- A microwave quantum memory, which will be integrated into the quantum transducer.
This position offers an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of quantum optics, spin physics, and superconducting circuits, with potential applications in distributed quantum computing and networks exploiting spin-based hybrid quantum systems.

- Perform experimental quantum information science and technology research projects with spins in diamond.
- Disseminate the results via publication in journals and/or presentation in national/international conferences.
- Participate in unit meetings, seminars, and unit activities in general.
- Assist the PI with tutoring and mentoring the students.
Required：
1. PhD in Physics or Engineering
2. Proficiency in spoken and written English within the scientific field
Preferred：
1. Experience with one or more of the followings:
microwave engineering, cryogenic experiments, or optical experiments.
Expected Annual Salary: 4.5M-5.9M yen

Full-time, fixed-term appointment for 2 years. Contract initially with 6-month probationary period (inclusive). This contract may be renewed by taking into consideration the performance, conduct, and behavior of the Employee and OIST’s financial and other circumstances.
