Workshop on Responsible Use of Gen AI Tools

Workshop on Responsible Use of Gen AI Tools
Thursday January 22nd, 2026 03:00 PM
Seminar Room C700 (Lab 3)

Description

The Grad School will host a workshop for Students, Faculty and Interested Staff on the responsible and ethical use of Generative AI tools.

We will begin with a discussion of current OIST and Grad School Policy and Guidelines for GenAI use, and then present a range of possible good and bad use cases.  Then we continue with a broad exchange of views on best practice and future trends in AI use in a university setting, focusing on GenAI use in education and research.  What is appropriate? What is borderline, and why? And what is beyond the pale...?

We want to hear your opinions and ideas on how to best use GenAI responsibly and safely.

All PhD students are recommended to attend.  Faculty and staff are most welcome to share their views too.

No registration required.
