Answer 1: Eligible external users include:
- Academic users: individuals from universities, research institutes, or public research institutions engaged in non-profit research.
- Industrial users: individuals from for-profit enterprises.
- Others: users who do not fall into the above categories may be considered on a case-by-case basis.
Question 2: How long does it take to assess my request?
Answer 2: Typically it takes between 2 weeks and 1 month to consider each request. This allows the OIST Core Facilities time to discuss with each requestor to correctly evaluate if we can accommodate the request.
Question 3: How do I get my data?
Answer 3: Data taken is the responsibility of the user. How to receive the data also depends on the equipment being used. Please discuss options with the specialists in charge of the equipment.
Question 4: Is training free of charge?
Answer 4: Training on equipment is treated as a paid service.
Question 5: Is group training possible?
Answer 5: Yes, receiving training in a group is possible depending on the equipment and is at the discretion of the specialist.
Question 6: How can I estimate my usage fee?
Answer 6: Please refer to our fee table. We can also issue an estimate upon request.
Question 7: Is it necessary to divide the period of use in the "Letter of Agreement" by fiscal year?
Answer 7: No, you can set the period as long as you need.
