Professional and Career Development (PCD) Program Administrator
The Okinawa Institute of Science and Technology Graduate University (OIST; see www.oist.jp) is a dynamic new graduate university of science and technology in Okinawa Prefecture, Japan. The university is located on 85 hectares of protected forestland overlooking beautiful shoreline and coral reefs. Division Function/Position summary:
The PCD program administrator is a detail-oriented professional who executes and manages the PCD program which is the credit-bearing program for OIST PhD students. The responsibilities also include organizing, managing, and tracking students and other participants’ progress of the PCD program

- Organize and manage the PCD events (both mandatory sessions and elective sessions) for PhD students and other participants under the guidance of the PCD coordinator.
- Conduct surveys for PCD events and evaluate the effectiveness of sessions
- Track students and other participants completion and requirement submission materials of PCD courses.
- Disseminate information about professional and career development events to OIST PhD students and other participants offered by external organizations and institutions.
- Other tasks assigned by section manager.
- Master’s or higher degree.
- Prior work experience in an academic environment.
- Experience working with diverse populations.

Full-time, fixed term appointment for 1 year/2 years. Contract initially with 3-month probationary period (inclusive). This contract may be renewed.
Flextime (core time 10:00-15:00) 7.5hrs per day (Multiplied by prescribed working days per month)
