Prof. Yabing Qi elected as 2023 MRS Fellow

OIST professor, Yabing Qi, is recognized by the Materials Research Society for his outstanding contributions to advance the mission of the materials community world-wide.

Professor Yabing Qi, who leads OIST Energy Materials and Surface Sciences Unit, has been elected as a Fellow of the Materials Research Society.

The title of MRS Fellow honors members who are notable for their distinguished research accomplishments and their outstanding contributions to the field of material science world-wide. In any given year, the maximum number of new Fellows is limited to 0.2% of the current total professional MRS membership. Election to MRS Fellow therefore represents a lifetime recognition of distinction in the field, and is highly prestigious. Professor Qi is recognized for his seminal contributions to the application of surface/interface science and advanced characterization in correlating fundamental research with device applications of metal halide perovskite materials and organic semiconductors.

Prof. Qi is also a recent recipient of Kao Science Award and Clarivate Highly Cited Researcher.
