Theory of Quantum Matter Unit Presents Unified Theory of Pinch Points and Half Moons

For the first time, physicists present a unified theory explaining two characteristic features of frustrated magnets and why they’re often seen together.

The Shannon Unit has published a new paper in Physical Review B explaining the elusive connection between half moons and pinch points, two characteristic features of frustrated magnets. The paper was featured as an "Editor's Suggestion" and a figure from the work was highlighted in “Kaleidoscope,” a section for aesthetically selected figures.
