The pi-conjugated polymer unit works on developing new materials suitable for organic electronics, bioelectronics, and wearable electronics. In that regard, the group focuses on two aspects: developing more efficient, controlled, and environmentally sustainable methods to synthesis pi-conjugated polymers; and performing structure-property relationship studies of synthesized polymers to improve the performance of the materials. More recently, the unit has also begun work on understanding the fate of microplastics in the marine environment.
