In advancing world-class research, OIST is one of our target universities. I look forward to contributing to the development of Okinawa and Ishikawa, as well as to the advancement of science in Japan and around the world."

OIST President and CEO Karin Markides said, “This is the first collaboration agreement since I assumed office in June. Collaboration among universities will become even more important in the future, and I look forward to working with JAIST to create an environment where different academic disciplines can merge to achieve common goals."

“Ishikawa Prefecture has been proud of its high level of manufacturing technology since the days of the Kaga Clan, and in that spirit, JAIST has been able to contribute to the local community while achieving significant scientific and technological results. The matching program between start-up companies and universities has been very influential and I look forward to the creation of a flow of mutual learning and refinement between the two institutions.” Naoki Okada, Minister of State for Okinawa stated.
