By Car

From Naha Downtown, it will take about an hour if you use the Okinawa Expressway. From Nago City, it will take about 50 minutes.

If you use the expressway, please get off at Yaka IC, make a left turn, go through the tunnel, and turn left at Route 58. Stay on Route 58 south for a while, and make a left turn when you see the overhead road sign for OIST.

The campus is located near the end (Tancha side) of the Route 58 Onna South Bypass. You will see a big sign for “OIST” on the wall when you arrive at the entrance to the campus.

When you see the big OIST sign on your right, go up the hill. You will be arriving at a parking area.

By Airport Limousine Buses (from Naha International Airport, Naha Bus Terminal, and hotels in Onna Village)

By Airport Limousine Bus “Cattleya-Go” line, it takes about 1.5 hours to get to OIST campus from Naha Airport/Naha Bus Terminal. Please get off at Daigakuin Daigaku Mae (OIST) and walk for 15 minutes. The “Cattleya Go” line runs as a temporary service for the period of Dec. 29, 2011 through Mar. 27, 2012.

By Airport Limousine Bus “Basho-Go” line, it takes about 1.5 hours to get to OIST campus from Naha Airport/Naha Bus Terminal.  Please get off at Seaside House bus stop and walk for 30 minutes.

The Limousine Buses are convenient for transportation from hotels in Onna to OIST.

Routes, Fares, and Timetables (PDF)

To take the limousine buses, you will need to get a ticket at the airport desk, at Naha Bus Terminal, one of Onna Village hotels’ front desks, Onna-no-Eki, or Oshiro Shoten bookstore (across Ishikawa MaxValu). You cannot buy tickets in the bus.

By Public Bus (From Naha Int’l Airport)

From Naha Int’l Airport, you can take following busses, both of which take about 2 hours:

• 120 - Nago Nishi Kuko Sen
• 20 - Nago Nishi Sen

Please get off at “Daigakuin Daigaku Mae (OIST)” bus stop. From the bus stop, it will take about 15 minutes by foot to get to the campus. Please see the map above for directions.

By Taxi

From Naha Int’l Airport, it will cost between 8,000 YEN and 12,000 YEN.

Seaside House

By Car

Approx. 1 hour from Naha Airport. Take Okinawa Expressway, exit at Yaka IC (No. 7) and turn left onto Route 88. Turn left at the next traffic light [Onna East Intersection]. Turn left at the next traffic light [Onna South Intersection] and onto Route 58.  OIST Seaside House will be at the top of the hill.

By Public Bus

Please follow the directions given above for the main campus, but get off at the "Seaside House" bus stop.

By Limousine Bus

The Airport Limousine Bus “Basho-Go” stops at the "Seaside House" stop.

Approx, 45 minutes from Naha Airport, Exit Okinawa Expressway at Kitanakagusuku (No.3). Take Route 329 north, then on to Route 85, pass cross bridge, turn left at the next traffic lights.

By Bus

From Naha Bus Terminal, take #31 Toyo Bus.
Get off at Toyo Bus Station Awase Branch. Approx. 20minute walk
