Neural Circuit Unit studies motor circuits controlling locomotor and skilled movements using various techniques such as molecular biology, mouse genetics, trans-synaptic viruses, optogenetic, and chemogenetic tools. Among motor circuits, we focus on sensory-motor and corticospinal circuits. Moreover, we are also interested in understanding how we could promote regeneration of motor circuits after injuries.
