Micro/ Bio/ Nanofluidics Unit

The Micro/Bio/Nanofluidics Unit focuses on rheology and non-Newtonian fluid mechanics at the nano-biointerfaces, coupled with microfluidics, with the aid of novel 3D printing, microfabrication and imaging techniques. Our research usually combines experiments, theory, and modeling to explore the dynamics and properties of flows involving nano- or micro-structures such as polymer solutions and bacteria/virus suspensions. In recent years, we have discovered new bifurcations and instabilities in flows of complex fluids at small length scales. Our research group also develops lab-on-a-chip platforms with machine learning algorithm for disease, security, and environmental monitoring.
