General Meeting of the Council for Promotion of OIST

A General Meeting of the Council for Promotion of OIST, or Kenmin Kaigi, was held on August 21, 2023, at the OIST auditorium, with 80 members of the council attending.

The meeting included opening remarks by Okinawa Vice Governor Teruya and reports by facilitator. OIST president, Dr. Karin Markides, provided a greeting. Arisa Ikeda, Community Relations Section manager, gave an overview of the new OIST activity report on community service and outreach activities. Narayan Lal Gurjar, founder and CEO of EF Polymer, an OIST business startup, gave a report on the Accelerator Program Graduation Team. OIST professors Noriyuki Sato and Keiko Kono reported on OIST research activities.

After the meeting, council members participated in a campus tour.
