Title: Artificial intelligence in medical imaging applied to oncology

Abstract: Cancer is a complex and multifactorial disease. For this reason, focusing solely on the localization of the tumor when managing patient treatment (e.g., brain tumors, liver tumors) is highly limited and explains part of the inefficiency of current cancer treatments. Artificial intelligence (AI) has the potential to capture and manipulate a large number of features that could be used to personalize treatments. Medical imaging is an efficient tool for characterizing tumors, and AI can improve the extraction of features related to treatment efficacy. This could enable predicting treatment efficacy before administering it to patients, allowing for more personalized medicine. The aim of this presentation is to provide examples of AI applications in medical imaging for brain cancer.
