Membraneless droplets

Membraneless droplets formed when a polymer called polyethylene glycol and a protein called bovine serum albumin are combined in a buffer. When the researchers added the enzyme lactate dehydrogenase (red) to the solution, it was taken up by the droplets and initiated a reaction inside them.
