Marine Genomics Unit on Worm Genome Evolution in the News
5 Dec 2017
Researchers from the Marine Genomics Unit at OIST, in collaboration with Okayama University, have decoded two worm genomes and found that they have several genetic similarities with the vertebrates. In a paper published in Nature Ecology & Evolution, the researchers analysed the genomes of two lophotrochozoan worm species, the nemertean Notospermusgeniculatus, a ribbon worm, and the phoronid Phoronisaustralis, a horseshoe worm.
